The 2026 Cape Gate Vaal Marathon is taking place on Sunday 1 March 2026.
We are celebrating 30 Years of continuous sponsorship from Cape Gate (Pty) Ltd. It will be the 51st running of this ever growing and well organized event. Start and finish at the Dick Fourie Stadium, Klip River Drive, Three Rivers, Vereeniging. This is a 4 race event, a 42.2km Marathon, a 21.1km Half Marathon, a 10km Road Race & a 5km Fun Run. |

42.2 km Marathon
A highlight on the road running calendar! This two-lapper gently meanders through four suburbs of Vereeniging and has a section along the banks of the Vaal River. While it is fair to say that the route is flat, it is by no means the easiest marathon; you will have to work the whole way. This race also serves as a qualifier for the Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon.
